Life in the streets is hard, especially for the young ones, as young as 7 – 16 years of age; they assume adult responsibility and work to make ends meet. The young ones wake up as early as 4 am in the morning, on a daily basis, irrespective of the weather condition, with a sack on their back, going round the streets collecting waste plastic and scrap metal so that they can go sell to brokers (who later sold it to factories to be recycled), to earn money for food and drugs.
